To see how the commerce titan's tech stacks up, we took a few onn. products home for a weekend to try them on for size. With an eye on items most fundamental to gaming, we spent 52 hours with the onn. gaming mechanical keyboard, onn. gaming mouse, and onn. gaming headset. Each product is compatible with PC or Mac design, and our staffer used his personal 2014 MacBook Air for the weekend — we know most gamers will be using a setup better for gaming, but if these accessories will work with our less-than-ideal-for-gaming computer, then they should work even better for a more solid rig. The onn. gaming mechanical keyboard provides a very different experience from our Macbook's keyboard. Tactilely, the onn. keyboard offers more resistance, with each keystroke resounding with a click. This did make for a satisfyingly punchy feeling when playing first-person shooter games. Of course, the keyboard also has more surface area than the default Macbook Air keyboard, an adjustment for gamers used to a more compact laptop setting but not a difficult one to make.
The biggest difference: the onn. keyboard contains RBG LED lights beneath its keys, creating a small light show under your hands. PC users can customize the lighting patterns, a bell-and-whistle that might add to gamers' sense of personalization with their rig — a benefit for a low-price point item like the onn. keyboard.

This lighting color-scheme carries over into the onn. gaming mouse, which has a wraparound LED-style lighting band that brings a retro-futuristic look. The mouse moves cleanly, with 3200-6400 adjustable DPI to customize scrolling speed. That came in handy for a flight simulator game, where the sensitivity of the mouse greatly affected gameplay — it's not difficult to think this would be an upgrade for anyone used to simply using a laptop's trackpad.
